Edge Zones presents the fourth annual Miami Performance International Festival this will be a weeklong festival : June 25-28. M/P ’15 is concern with the limits of visual and living arts and the performance space. The program of performance art is accompanied by video screenings, talks and workshops. The festival exclusively dedicated to performance art, an artistic practice of transcending borders that is widely discussed today mostly uses only language and movement. It represents a structure for planning festivals, a vision for continuity between festivals, a commitment to community and place, and a dedication to new and under-recognized art. M/P ’15 is a tremendous opportunity for the public to come face-to-face with the breadth and depth of performance art and offers visceral and challenging performance works by renowned, mid-career and emerging artists from different countries, as well as many national and local artists. This annual event provides a look, urgencies, political conditions, and historical narratives that inform the work of contemporary artists around the world in a range of media, and presents cross-disciplinary, collaborative work that speaks to the high level of innovation, critical thinking, and social engagement in Miami. Events are free but availability is limited.

In celebration of Miami-Dade’s diverse art scene, works will be showcased across the city in a range of sites, including: the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens and at Edge Zones Projects - Miami Design District, Museum of Contemporary Art , North Miami and Churchill's Pub and ArtCenter/South Florida.

Miami Performance International Festival ’15 is a much-needed networking platform for the art community and brings together the most important artists from around the world in the field of performance art. M/P ’15 aims to provide a public platform for remarkable, unusual and engaged performances. Performance art is primarily geared to the creation of an ephemeral art.  The Festival offers the public an opportunity to discover a realm at the edge of artistic disciplines. Unlike theater and dance, all MP ’15 performances have no designated areas nor are they presented on a stage, but rather on the floor, dissolving the boundary between the artists and viewers.
